May has been a good one. There are always so many things to be thankful for, but I have taken to making a special note of what is bringing a little extra delight into my life each month.
Honestly? It's been a game changer.
1. Dresses with Pockets. Specifically this one. I have a couple now and I cannot for the life of me understand why I ever owned a dress without pockets. I don't even put anything in them really (besides a couple of tissues for my spring allergies) (yeah, that last part made me sound 100), I just like that I can. And that it gives me somewhere to put my hands.
2. Avacados with Pineapple. My friend Jennifer accidentally made me some fajitas with gaucamole and pineapple (she didn't have any mangos on hand) and now I can't quit it. To make the eating of it much easier I have taken to just smashing and seasoning some avacados and then throwing in some pineapple. And then? I eat that business with a spoon. A SPOON. No chips, that's just a distraction from the awesomeness.
3. Lauren Daigle Acoustic. Everyone seemed to be sorta losing their minds over Lauren Daigle and I had only heard one song on the radio. I mean, I liked it. It was a good middle-of-the-pack kind of song. AND THEN...I looked her up on YouTube and she has an acoustic playlist. THAT VOICE. It doesn't need any help. Whatsoever.
4. Family Style Dinner. I'm gonna blame this one on the baby years, but for as long as we have had kids we have just plated up their food for them and set it on the table. Which made for a ton of work for me and wasn't helping them much. We actually went to a couple of dinner parties before I realized my kids didn't know how to serve or dish out food. SMH. For real. So we started putting the food on the table at mealtime, and as is usually the outcome, they are totally capable. This makes my life So Much Easier. And I'm into things that make my life easier. Added bonus? It gives us more actual time around the table. I'm into that too.
