I'm dubbing this year The Year of Landscaping. Last year was the Year of Building. I mean, I guess I should have seen that coming, but I had no idea how involved I would have to be with this yard situation. I now have the skills to assist in installing a sprinkler system, pour concrete, and soon I can add till and plant grass to those skills.
Which, you know, might actually be more usefully in my currently life than that adorable college degree gathering dust in the garage.
Also, I can't tell you how many times I have laughed at Eli and Russ sitting around watching the grass grow. They are like eighty year old men sitting on the porch. That is actually adorable.
On the the weekend links:
Summer 2018 Movie Preview: I absolutely get that there are lots of people who bond over movies. I am not usually one of those people. I usually fall asleep about 10 minutes in, miss the whole thing, and then spend the rest of my life missing the references. But I would be lying if I didn't say I'm super excited about Oceans Eight. My husband? Less enthusiastic. So who is going with me?
Five Minutes Cantaloupe Lemonade: Because its summer and give me all the cold, fruity beverages.
20 Interesting Recipes to Make with Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast: So, I'm a summer meal fail. I just never really can pull it off between the pool, baseball, and heat in general. My favorite thing about most of these recipes is that they can be made in bulk, chilled, and grabbed at any second. (Although, Russ if you are reading this, please don't get your expectations up that I'm actually going to be fixing dinner! :))
Being Barefoot Boosts Brain Development: My kids remind me of Dolly Parton. (Did I just say that? Yes I did.) In the way that they will begrudgingly put shoes on in cool weather, but as soon as summer shows up, I know to give up the fight. The will to run barefoot is too strong for me to fight, so this is good news.
I Tried A New Thing: In case you missed it, I tried a Goody Box from Thread Up and had such a great experience, if you are looking for a great way to refresh your summer wardrobe this is it!
