A couple of weeks ago Russ walked in the bedroom before the sun was even up, “Hey do you think the kids could make it through a whole game?”
We’d already decided they couldn’t. Not yet. Four hours. Walking several miles. The heat. The crowds. It’s all a bit much with five kids.
“Yeah, probably, I said.”
Tickets had gone on a flash sale, it was ending soon. It was now or never, so we went for it. Two days later we hit Lubbock city limits with the whole crew and I’m SO GLAD we did.
The kids were amazing and engaged and even the sky agreed to play along and it was warm, but cloudy all day so we stayed cool. Sometimes I find it really hard to say yes to things like this, that I know from experience usually end up with a whole lot of whining and usually a meltdown or two, but I’m so glad I got over myself this time.
