Russ was gone all week and I was surprised that it wasn’t that hard for our family. And yet…I find it surprisingly difficult when he is gone in general. I can manage the normal amount of productivity and output, but it’s much harder to sustain it when my person that “gets” it all isn’t there. All that to say, this last week was a nose the grindstone week and it because of that it was a bit of blur.

Awakening Adventure: Here is one big takeaway I have from working in youth ministry: Most people (especially young people) still believe faith is a list of Do’s and Don’ts. I think for that reason this is an important read for anyone following Jesus.
The Latest Thing We Can Blame Millennials for Killing: It’s so rare to see a positive news article about my generation that I couldn’t help a little self-indulgent share here. (Note: The shining side of this article has a dark shadow that is the socioeconomic gap. I think we have to take our wins where we can and keep fighting for victory where we fall short.
Mantras for Happier Parents: Y’all, so many of these were so good. A few of my favorites that have affected both my parenting and my view of my own self: “People Change” and “You Can Be Happy When Your Children Aren’t”
On Creating a Habit of Bible Reading in the Homeschool: Not just for homeschool! Or for that matter, just for kids. This episode stepped all over me in the best ways. Best part: A sweet reminder that it’s easier than we think.
