Giving Up

Y'all this week has kicked my rear. More specifically having two kids is kicking my tail this week. One of my children in particular is wearing me out. I'll give you a hint: She's older than six weeks.

Now before I tattle on my toddler here is what I want you to know:

She is curious, she learns fast, she laughs beautifully and a lot, she is focused, she is passionate, she is a a bit of a perfectionist, she has a funny sense of humor, she is active and energetic!

Now I'm going to tell on her:

She is curious (into everything), she learns fast (too fast, I have to be sneaky doing things or she'll figure them out) she laughs beautifully and a lot (loud and it never stops), she is focused (distraction doesn't work), she is passionate (stubborn), she is a a bit of a perfectionist (easily frustrated), she has a funny sense of humor (ornery), she is active and energetic (did I mention into everything?!?!)

Because sometimes the thing you love most about someone are the things that drive you the most crazy. Can I get an Amen?!?!

And this week has been whipping me and I've been fighting back hard. Really hard. And so has she.

And losing. Losing really bad. Both of us.

It's easy for me and the Bug to go head to head because I see so much of myself in her. I get her. And I get that she's frustrated and wanting to run away right now. Cause I sorta want to do the same thing.

PS I'm quite sure I believed people when they said you'd see yourself in your kids.

PPS I'm also quite sure I thought I'd only see great things.

PPPS That's funny right there. (name that movie)

So I'm throwing in the towel. I'm giving up and I'm giving it to God. This victory for my spirited little girl is His.

And while he works on us? We are going to praise Him all the way to play and laugh at the park.
