To The Mother's In-Between

Once in college I thought it would be a good idea to get a credit card.  It wasn't. But that's obvious isn't it?

In the end I was in tears making that hard phone call home to ask for help. My mom and dad both pitched in to help bail me out and I've made sure not to make that mistake again.

But by the Grace of God, there go I...

I met Nicol Epple a couple of months ago at a conference and she has a passion for freeing souls from sex trafficking. She told heart wrenching statistics of sexual abuse and women whose bodies are sold fifteen times a day. She painted pictures of mere girls who couldn't pay debts, who couldn't buy food sold to pay for the space their own life takes up on this planet.

But by the Grace of God, there go I...

I look back and my cozy little life seems so far removed from that world. I made better choices. My parents made better choices. My community made better choices.

Or did we just have better available choices?

What if I hadn't been born into the family I was given? I clearly didn't make good choices. In another family, the choices I made could have landed me a victim of sexual trafficking.

But by the Grace of God, there go I...

The fact of the matter is, I do have better available choices that the vast majority of women in this world, for the most part that a huge portion of the women in this country.

The question is now raise, what will I do with those choices?

Will I stand up and fight for the people who have been robbed of life?

"Thus says the Lord: Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. "

Will I be a mother that stands in-between? Will I, like Nicol, and the native women who are taking in and caring for abused bodies and aching souls choose to be a mother that stands in-between. A mother that fights for all young women? Because when I look in the face of my little girls, I know that this fight is for them.

This fight is because we have had the grace of God lavished upon us our gratitude reveals itself when we share His grace with others.

Would you today, join me in praying for these victims? Would you consider donating to a salary for a mom that stands in-between?
